The magic of repurposing and upcycling

Repurposing: The use of something for a purpose other than its original intended use (Investopedia)

There’s something inspiring about taking something, and reworking or recreating it into something else entirely.

I think that is where my interest in content marketing comes from. The process of taking seemingly bland/boring corporate information (whether in the form of a press release, customer survey, product catalogue or company newsletter) and transforming it over and over into different fun, entertaining or interesting bite size pieces of shareable content that give a brand a personality, is invigorating.

Whether it be the repurposing of clothing, furniture, or content; I have a fascination with the ability to turn something once discarded into something new and exciting.

I am moving to East End London in August of this year, and I am hoping to gain work in content marketing preferably in a company that supports or contributes to repurposing and upcycling clothing and furniture- if not, I plan to open my own little store one day that does just that.

Take peoples unused, unwanted and unloved items and creates something entirely new from them, that mean something special to their new owner.

Do you know any repurposing/upcycling companies in the East End of London? I would love to hear about them in the comments 🙂
